The Diabolical ironclad beetle, a miniature tank on six legs.

There’s no end to the wonders of creation. God certainly has knowledge and powers beyond our comprehension. He made all creatures and every living thing is from Him, scripture points to all animals including the creeping things being credited to His intelligent designs: Genesis 1:24 And God said, “Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind: cattle and creeping thing and beast of the earth after his kind”; and it was so.

One of these amazing creeping things is a beetle that has an impressive way to prevent itself being crushed. In fact, the design is able to take on 39,000 times its own body weight before the exoskeleton will begin to fracture. To put this into perspective, the same stress would press down on a person stacking 40 battle tanks on their shoulders. Even a car can drive over this insect and it will still walk away, undamaged.

An Abrams M1 battle tank, these weigh around 68 tons; imagine 40 of these weighing down on you.

The Diabolical ironclad beetle is just one of the massive list of insects designed by God. When you study even just a short amount of information about this particular beetle it’s hard to imagine it appeared through a chain of chance happenings over millions of years. That’s because it was designed this way and looks today exactly the way it did 6,000 years ago (not millions of years ago) when all life was created. To examine such a creature and state it was a long series of chance events that led to such amazing engineering in a living creature is simply insane. Evolution presents no logic when even the most ‘simple’ life forms are examined; the more evolution is studied, the more it becomes clearer that it’s simply not possible for the idea to work, even if secular teaching says it’s fact. There are plenty of scientists who will argue that this insect has evolved, and that’s why it’s now so advanced in structure. They say evolution is fact and yet it takes a team of intelligent engineers to try and copy (and often in a crude way in comparison) what has formed, in their minds, by accident. It’s so true that Satan has blinded these ones: 2nd Corinthians 4:4 The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers.

The design of this beetle is engineered to withstand a high volume of external stress, but how? The bottom left image (below) shows an almost jigsaw like pattern in the center of the body of the beetle, these are tightly interlocked but can flex and swivel up and down, giving the insect the ability to withstand extreme forces; there are other areas of its exoskeleton that can accommodate stresses that would flatten most beetles. This design is ingenious, and who else could create something that is so small, yet durable beyond imagination; God of course. To emphasise the madness of evolution once again, it’s believed this design has, apparently, come about by chance after evolving from a much more basic model, ‘millions of years ago’. If evolution were true then this beetle would have been crushed to death over and over to finally decide that the current design works best, this is a stupid idea that is totally flawed.

No way could this complex design come about by chance.
The Diabolical Ironclad Beetle may not be the best looking insect but it certainly is impressive in design.

Engineers from the University of California, Irvine (UCI) are working with a team from Purdue University to try and understand what makes the beetle’s exoskeleton a structural marvel. They are doing this but still won’t admit it has obvious signs pointing to intelligent design. Aircraft engineers are also looking at the beetle for ideas on air frame structures. The atmospheric pressures exerted on the fuselage during climbing and descending through changes of pressure, especially during a rapid decent from the cruise phase of the flight, are very stressful for the air frame, fatal accidents have resulted in structural failure from metal fatigue caused by the constant expanding and contracting of air frames during various phases of flight. These are intelligent people and yet they still need to copy an insect, a creeping thing designed and created by God, to help them advance in their quest for better engineering.

One of the first commercial jet aircraft, the De Havilland Comet. A number of them broke up in flight due to metal fatigue. Humans can be amazing engineers, but nothing we can produce compares to what God has created.

There are many engineers studying the Diabolical ironclad beetle. Those who work with machines that are operated in the depths of the sea are especially interested to know more about how this beetle can survive such extreme forces to its body. If they can apply the same engineering to their vessels the risks when deploying them into the cold dark depths of the oceans will be significantly reduced. If they can copy what God (not evolution) has designed, a manned submersible could likely safely reach the deepest parts of our oceans and operate with reduced risks. If protected from the extreme external pressures that, if the vessel fails, would crush the object and the people inside in less than a second, this would allow for further exploration of what we know very little about. We’ve seen how a poor design can become dangerous in these environments. When the Titan submersible became compromised it made international news. There was a morbid fascination about what happened; who didn’t imagine what it must have been like onboard the vessel while seeing reports about the loss of communications before the accident; the implosion? Stockton Rush had a team of engineers at his company, OceanGate Inc, produce what was essentially a death trap; his, and the engineers, poor design choices cost him and four others their lives. Taking any manned vessel beneath the surface of the sea is extremely dangerous, especially when reaching depths around 12,500 feet (the estimated depth of where the RMS Titanic lays to rest). That much water surrounding anything exerts forces rating a pressure of 375 atmospheres, that’s 5’500 pounds of force per square inch! There exist vessels that can achieve such dives, but they never self-assemble the way evolution teaches, it takes intelligent humans to design and engineer these objects. Unlike humans, God is rarely given credit for his far superior engineering skills; instead the secular world will praise humans for their creations, and evolution for ‘designs’ in nature. The point most secular teachers seem to miss is that anyone copying nature is really saying that intelligent design has to exist, or else why would people have to copy an accident, evolution.

CEO of OceanGate Richard Stockton Rush III (on the right) stands next to his submersible, the Titan; a death trap. On the plus side, humans have engineered some amazing machines, the space shuttles, jet aircraft, and much more. Even so, our engineering is primitive compared to the work of God.

God doesn’t limit His ideas whenever creating anything, he constantly amazes us with the insect world. Beetles are a small part of the creeping things listed in Genesis, but even so there are an estimated 400,000 different kinds of them found today, and there are likely far more that are still undiscovered. All of them are amazing and some are, like the featured Diabolical Ironclad Beetle, not very attractive looking but are incredible when studied for their amazing robust design. Some beetles are like jewels with amazing colours that make them very beautiful to look at. Many of them can fly, having their wings protected by their shells when folded away. Some people keep them as pets, and many can be eaten too. The variety of these insects is staggering, and each kind has a function, a purpose.

A Jewel Beetle, it looks stunning with the metallic colours. There are hundreds of thousands of these kinds of amazing creatures.

There are beetles that live in water, some that make light in their bodies (glow worms) and they range in size from as small as grains of sand, to giants such as the Titan and Hercules, almost large enough to completely cover a mans hand. In Thailand in the month of June, Giant Water Bugs are eaten as a treat. In parts of Africa Stink Bugs are eaten, and some say they taste like cinnamon, others say it’s more like a sour apple. The World Wide Economic Forum would like us all to eat bugs and not meat, they have actually floated the idea, but in reality most people would rather avoid eating beetles.

A Goliath Beetle almost completely covers this hand belonging to an adult.

With only slightly touching on the diversity of beetles, and the amazing design of the Diabolical ironclad beetle, surely it’s obvious that the idea of millions of years (without this evolution does not work) for life to evolve is nothing more than a massive lie. Charles Darwin invented the idea knowing these massive amounts of time would allow one life form to transition into something completely different; it was only in his imagination that something so absurd could have worked. There is a scripture that often offends those who would have more faith required for evolution, than God. It is used to state the idea of not believing in an intelligent designer and creator. It is not meant to offend at all, it’s just a simple statement that, when you consider even just one of His creations, it surely demonstrates we know hardly anything about our world, and the creatures we share it with. Psalms 14:1 The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.
